Two weeks will not move you from A2 to B2. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. What two weeks can realistically do is unblock you: rebuild confidence, fix habits that have quietly set, and give you a clear picture of what to work on next. For a lot of learners, that is worth more than another year of stop-start study at home.

What actually changes in two weeks

CEFR levels are designed to take substantial time, so a level change in two weeks is unlikely. Progress over a short stay shows up in other ways:

  • You hesitate less, because you have spent two weeks speaking daily rather than weekly.
  • You notice recurring errors, because a teacher has pointed at the same pattern more than once.
  • Your listening adjusts to a range of accents in an international class.
  • You leave with an accurate sense of your level and a specific list of priorities.

Choose intensity honestly

On a short stay the number of lessons matters more than it does on a long one, because you have fewer days to work with. General English 20 gives 15 hours a week; Intensive English 30 gives 22.5. If two weeks is all you have and improvement is the whole point of the trip, the intensive option uses the time better — provided you can concentrate for that long, which not everyone can.

Add one-to-one lessons if you have a specific problem

Group lessons are efficient for general improvement. If your issue is narrow — a presentation, an interview, pronunciation of particular sounds, writing emails — private lessons are the faster route. They are 45 minutes each, normally booked at least two a day, and every one-to-one student completes a needs analysis first so the teacher plans around your actual goal. Students on General English 20 can sometimes add a single private lesson per day, subject to teacher availability.

Use the hours outside class

The students who make the most of a fortnight are the ones who keep using English after 16:00. The free weekly adult conversation class is the obvious starting point, and the activity programme puts you in situations where English is the working language rather than a subject.

Set the expectation before you arrive

  • Minimum booking is one week, so two weeks already doubles the usual floor.
  • You will receive a certificate and student report with at least 85% attendance.
  • Progress testing runs every four weeks, so on a two-week course you will not sit one — your teacher feedback is the measure instead.
If you want a level change rather than a confidence change, plan for eight weeks or more. Long-stay courses are built around exactly that, with progress testing and holiday entitlement included.
