Data collection We collect and process personal data when you contact us through the forms on this website, by email or through other communication channels, and when you enquire about, book or take part in our services. When you visit this website, limited technical data is recorded by the web server, such as your IP address, the type of browser and device you are using and the pages you visited. This information is used to keep the site working and secure, and does not normally allow us to identify you directly. ## 2\. Use of data and sharing with third parties Personal data provided to us is processed in a lawful, fair and transparent manner, and is used only for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes. That includes responding to enquiries, arranging courses, accommodation and visa support, and communicating with students, parents, agents and partners. Where necessary, personal data may be shared with trusted third parties involved in delivering our services, including: - accommodation providers — host families, residences and hotels - transport providers and activity organisers - education agents - professional service providers, such as accountants - relevant authorities, where required by law All such parties are required to process personal data securely and in accordance with applicable data protection legislation. We may also use your contact details to tell you about similar courses or services offered by International House Malta, where the law permits it. You can opt out of that at any time by writing to gdpr (at) ihmalta.com. ## 3\. Consent and revocation Where processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Some data must be kept where that is required for legal, accounting or regulatory purposes, and withdrawing consent does not affect it. ## 4\. Storage period Personal data is stored only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. Where the law requires it, certain data — financial records in particular — may be kept for longer, typically up to ten years under applicable tax and accounting regulations. ## 5\. Customer account Where a customer account is created, we store the information needed to manage bookings and provide our services. You may ask us to close your account at any time. ## 6\. Cookies and third-party content ### What this website stores This website is a set of static pages. It sets no advertising cookies. The only third party contacted without being asked is Google Analytics, which measures visits anonymously until you accept — see “Analytics” below for exactly what that means. Everything else, including the interactive map, loads only when you ask for it. Two small items may be stored on your device by this site itself: - a cookie recording your answer to the consent bar, so that you are not asked again on every page; - a cookie recording the pages you have visited during your visit, kept short and used only to give context to an enquiry you choose to send us. Neither of these two identifies you by name, and neither is shared with anyone. If you accept the consent bar, Google Analytics adds its own cookies as well — see “Analytics” below. Refuse, or leave the bar unanswered, and nothing beyond the two items above is stored on your device. ### Content from other companies Some content on this site is hosted by other companies, and loading it lets those companies see your IP address. That content is not loaded unless you ask for it: - The location map on the contact page is shown as a still picture served from this website. The interactive Google map, and the cookies Google sets with it, load only when you press “Show interactive map”. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings; some parts of this website may not work correctly if you block them entirely. ### Analytics This website uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-G615T3SL59) to count visits and see which pages are read. It runs in Google Consent Mode: the measurement script is loaded on every page, so Google sees your IP address and browser when you arrive, but \*\*nothing is stored on your device and no visit is tied to you until you press “Accept”\*\*. Before that, and if you refuse, the measurement is anonymous and cookieless — Google receives a signal it can count but cannot link to your other visits. If you accept, Google sets its own cookies (\`\_ga\` and \`\_ga\_G615T3SL59\`, up to two years) to tell repeat visits apart. Withdrawing consent through “Cookie settings” returns the measurement to the cookieless state and deletes those cookies. Advertising and personalisation signals stay switched off in every case: this site runs no advertising. ## 7\. Newsletter If you subscribe to our newsletter, we use your name and email address to send you information about our courses and services. You can withdraw your consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails, or by contacting us directly. ## 8\. Your rights You have the right to: - request access to your personal data - request correction of inaccurate data - request deletion, where applicable - restrict or object to processing - request data portability, where applicable - withdraw consent, where processing is based on consent Requests are handled within the time limits set by the GDPR. You also have the right to complain to the Office of the Information and Data Protection Commissioner in Malta. ## 9\.
